Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has officially opened Fairmont New Orleans, marking the luxury hospitality brand’s return to the city after 20 years and celebrating a major milestone as its 100th hotel worldwide.
Located in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District, the new 250-room luxury hotel offers elegant accommodations, destination dining by renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse, a rooftop pool, wellness facilities, and more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Within walking distance of the famous French Quarter and just minutes from Caesars Superdome, Fairmont New Orleans aims to become a destination for both international travelers and locals looking for a sophisticated place to stay, dine, and celebrate.
A Historic Building Reimagined for Modern Luxury

Developed by Kailas Companies and operated by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, the hotel occupies 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 31-story landmark originally designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1970.
Rather than drawing solely from the French Quarter’s colonial architecture, the property celebrates the glamour and optimism of the 1970s while incorporating contemporary luxury.
Designed by Rockwell Group, the interiors feature rich colors, layered textures, locally inspired artwork, and details reflecting Louisiana’s natural landscapes.
Several original architectural elements have been carefully restored, including the building’s entrance canopy, lobby floors, decorative bronze panels, and local cypress wood ceilings.
The grand lobby serves as the hotel’s social centerpiece, highlighted by a dramatic staircase, an oversized chandelier inspired by magnolia flowers and Spanish moss, and a stylish Lobby Bar designed for cocktails and live entertainment.
“After two decades away, returning to New Orleans feels like a joyful homecoming,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to celebrating the city’s culture, hospitality, and heritage.
Elegant Rooms and Suites With City Views

Fairmont New Orleans features 250 guest rooms and suites designed to offer the comfort of a private residence with the sophistication of a luxury hotel.
Rooms feature curated furnishings, custom artwork, warm finishes, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. Select king rooms also include decorative faux balconies with café tables, inspired by New Orleans’ charming porches and terraces.
Guests can expect premium amenities, including:
- Le Labo Rose 31 bath and body products
- Nespresso coffee machines
- Minibars featuring locally sourced products
- Twice-daily housekeeping
- 24-hour concierge service
- Complimentary house car drop-off service within one mile for ALL Accor members, subject to availability
For travelers seeking an elevated experience, Fairmont Gold, located on the 29th and 30th floors, is scheduled to debut in December.
This exclusive hotel-within-a-hotel concept will feature a private lounge overlooking the Mississippi River, personalized check-in, dedicated concierge service, complimentary breakfast, afternoon canapés, and beverages.
The property will also offer distinctive loft suites with double-height windows, spacious living areas, and views toward Caesars Superdome.
Dining Experiences by Chef Emeril Lagasse

One of Fairmont New Orleans’ biggest highlights is its culinary partnership with celebrated American chef Emeril Lagasse and The Emeril Group.
The collaboration introduces two dining concepts designed to showcase the city’s rich food culture.
Delmonico Steakhouse
Making its New Orleans debut, Delmonico Steakhouse brings Chef Lagasse’s signature American steakhouse experience to the city.
Open for dinner, the restaurant serves premium steaks, including in-house dry-aged cuts from Creekstone Farms, Japanese Wagyu, fresh seafood, oysters, and caviar.
Guests can also enjoy theatrical tableside preparations, including carved Chateaubriand, Caesar salad, and the classic Bananas Foster dessert.
The restaurant’s interiors feature walnut wood, plush velvet seating, warm amber tones, and green marble accents inspired by sophisticated 1970s dining rooms.
The Café by Emeril
For a more relaxed dining experience, The Café by Emeril serves breakfast and lunch with a menu combining French-inspired dishes, Creole flavors, and Southern influences.
Guests can enjoy everything from chicory coffee to comforting breakfast and lunch favorites in a casual brasserie-style setting connected to the hotel lobby.
Together, these restaurants aim to offer both hotel guests and local diners a memorable taste of New Orleans.
Rooftop Pool, Cocktail Bars, and Wellness Facilities

Fairmont New Orleans is also preparing additional lifestyle experiences scheduled to open in early December.
Among the most anticipated is Bleu Perdu, a rooftop dining and pool destination located 31 floors above the city.
The rooftop will feature panoramic views of New Orleans and the Mississippi River, along with comfortable loungers, private cabanas, bistro-style dining, and spaces for live entertainment.
After sunset, locally crafted gas lanterns will create a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the city skyline.
Another upcoming attraction is Third Measure, an intimate cocktail bar developed in collaboration with Neal Bodenheimer, founder of the acclaimed New Orleans cocktail bar Cure.
Inspired by the city’s cocktail traditions and musical heritage, the venue will feature elegant interiors, a marble bar, and sunset views.
For guests looking to relax and recharge, the hotel will introduce a 10,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, featuring private treatment rooms, a couples’ suite, sauna, steam room, and relaxation lounges.
The fitness studio will include Matrix Onyx equipment and personalized training options.
Through Fairmont’s Wellness Without Walls initiative, guests will also be encouraged to explore outdoor experiences around New Orleans, including scenic walks, kayaking, and running routes along the Mississippi River.
ALL Accor members will additionally have access to complimentary Nike Lending Gear during their stay.
A Convenient Location for Exploring New Orleans
Location is another major advantage of Fairmont New Orleans.
Situated in the Central Business District, the hotel provides convenient access to some of the city’s most popular attractions, including the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, Warehouse District, Caesars Superdome, and Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Whether visiting for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, sporting events, business trips, or a weekend getaway, guests can easily explore the city’s food, music, entertainment, and cultural attractions.
The hotel also features more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including two grand ballrooms, six meeting rooms, and an executive boardroom.
Its event facilities can accommodate intimate gatherings of around 10 guests up to larger celebrations of approximately 500 attendees.
Fairmont New Orleans Room Rates and Reservations
Room rates at Fairmont New Orleans start at $459 per night, although prices may vary depending on travel dates, room category, and availability.
Travelers can book directly through the official Fairmont New Orleans website.
Guests may also join ALL Accor, the hotel group’s complimentary loyalty program, to earn points on eligible stays and redeem them for future rewards and experiences.
With its historic architecture, luxurious accommodations, celebrity-chef dining, and prime downtown location, Fairmont New Orleans offers travelers another exciting option for experiencing the Crescent City.
Its opening not only marks Fairmont’s return to New Orleans but also celebrates the brand’s continued expansion as it reaches its 100th hotel worldwide.
