Wish 107.5 is turning five and in commemoration of its anniversary, the FM radio station is making August [highlight]“Wish Month.”[/highlight]
The month-long revelry will kick off on August 1 with three of its radio programs — the Wish List, the Roadshow, and Wishpers of Love — broadcasting live from the Wish 107.5 Bus. Gracing the event are special guests including Imago, Barbie Almalbis, Autotelic, Side A and Keiko Necesario, among others.
As what Wish has done since its inception in 2014, the musical vehicle will also stop by different parts of the metro to stage live performances from different OPM acts throughout the month. The station will also dole out exclusive merchandise via giveaway promos on the radio, online, and during its on-ground activations.
The “Wish Month” will culminate in a concert on August 25, Sunday, at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.
Industry Innovator – Kuya Daniel Razon
First launched on August 10, 2014, Wish 107.5 proved itself to be a game-changer with the endeavours it has initiated under the helm of innovator-broadcaster Kuya Daniel Razon. While maintaining an all-hits playlist on the radio, it has gone out beyond what’s conventional by launching the Wish 107.5 Bus. This fully-equipped vehicle is capable of doing live on-air broadcasts and recording musical performances of artists who have hopped on it.
The one-of-its-kind platform has since been duplicated both in Hollywood, Los Angeles and in the country. The Wish USA Bus caters to talented artists from the Western shores while the second Wish Bus in the Philippines is mainly used during provincial tours.
The performances being staged on all three buses are then translated as digital content to share them with a wider audience. Called “Wishclusives,” these high-definition videos are the flagship feature of the Wish 107.5 YouTube Channel.
The award-winning video series has catapulted the channel to popularity; helping it gather over 6 million subscribers as of writing time.
The Culminating 365 Anniversary Concert
For achieving the said milestones in only five years, Wish is holding a culminating event called the “365 Anniversary Concert” on August 25 at the Aliw Theater. 365 represents Wish 107.5’s recent milestones — 3 Wish Buses, 6 million subscribers, and 5 years in the industry.
The star-studded show will be headlined by Asia’s Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan and two of the hottest OPM bands today, Ben&Ben and IV of Spades. The line-up will also include folk-pop sensation Syd Hartha, OPM band 3rd Avenue, plus a special surprise guest.
Vocal quintet The Wishfuls — composed of Princess Sevillena, Kim Baluzo, Louie Culala, Carmela Ariola, and Ace Bartolome — and rising belter Rhea Basco will complete the roster of performers. These artists are all products of Wish 107.5’s own online talent search, Wishcovery.
Apart from show-stopping numbers, the concert will also put the spotlight on another advocacy of Wish 107.5: The wish-granting. The station will donate a total of Php 500,000 to five handpicked charitable institutions.
“With God’s help, when we conceptualize something, we are always thinking of how we can extend the charity works that we are doing. And that’s the reason why Wish is here. What we really want is to be an instrument in granting other people’s wishes,” Kuya Daniel shared in an interview.
