Borrowing Marie Kondo’s line “Spark of Joy” is probably the best phrase I could explain whenever I’ll be visiting a toy store sporting different Sesame Street items. I guess it taps that inner kiddo in me, who grew up watching this TV show.
Back in the days that there are no other electronic recreational activities than to leisurely watch TV; Individuals at my age could agree with the popularity of Sesame Street characters Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monsters and the likes, from before until today. Though sadly the show was already canceled (to what I’ve known of), kids who have not seen the TV show can still enjoy these fun and loving characters through different merch.
And guess what, fans and those who just love Sesame Street would definitely be happy to know that the [highlight]popular Milk Tea brand Serenitea had just recently partnered with Sesame Street![/highlight]
I think I am one of those people who became excited when I heard about the recent partnership. So, one weekday afternoon, I decided to tag along friends to join me and visit the nearest Serenitea store in the area. And because we were in BGC at that moment, we had the option to either visit the Serenitea branch in Burgos Circle or the other Serenitea Branch located in Bonifacio One Tower. We ended up visiting the latter.
Good thing my friends Alvin and Victor Basa was up for a tea party. Actually, we decided to walk from Uptown Mall to Bonifacio One Tower just to be able to have milk tea at that moment. Of course, aside from satisfying our cravings, the cute photos of the main characters of Sesame Street found in almost every corner of the store was also pleasing.
The three of us ordered an item at Serenitea’s Brown Sugar Series. Vic was actually thinking of getting a Cookie Brulee but I lured him on trying the Brown Sugar Taho instead. So we got the same item, while Alvin ordered the Brown Sugar Frost. When we already got our orders, I was surprised that they have created different designs for the cups, even for the covers.
Interviewing one of the crew, I was told that Serenitea releases different designs and is scattered in different branches, nationwide. All the Store staff was also sporting Sesame Street caps, aprons, and pins. Which I personally wanted to take home as well. Lol!
But the cups are not yet the highlight of the story, For Sesame Street avid fan and item collectors, Serenitea has release Sesame Street Merch in the form of reusable steel straws.[highlight]The Limited Edition Serenitea x Sesame Street steel straw features Elmo, Cookie Monster and Big Bird.[/highlight]
The Sesame Street Steel Straws already comes with a cleaning brush and a canvas pouch which you can avail FOR FREE if you make a single receipt purchase of Php 899 (food, drinks and/or GCs) at any Serenitea branches nationwide from July 15 until August 14, 2019. As to what I know, that’s one straw only per Php 899 purchase. So I guess, if you are not dining with a big group or cannot consume items at that amount; the best way to do this is to purchase Gift Certificates that you can used some other time. At least, the GC’s can be used anytime and don’t have expiration dates.
Also, the Serenitea x Sesame Street reusable straw can be availed only when you dine-in or do a take-out. In-house delivery through direct order to Serenitea is valid as well but not via Grab Food or Lalafood transactions. On our visit I was able to take home this cute Serenitea Elmo Straw, now I only need two more visits to complete the Sesame Street Steel Straws that will include also Cookie Monster and Big Bird collectible steel straws!
