Okay guys, I hope there’s no hesitation on this: The World Pizza Day is something worth celebrating. So I hope you’ll allow my inner geek to blurt this small slice of pizza history out.

Before becoming the “pizza” that endeared the world over, this yeasted flat bread with tomato sauce and cheese originated in Naples, Italy in the 1700s. The Neopolitan Raffaele Esposito was accounted as the creator of the iconic pizza to pay tribute to Queen Margherita in 1889.

Shakey’s Pizza Got Lucky (Manzano)

Shakey’s have invited me over to one of their branch located in Quezon Avenue to tastes thier ever-dependable menu and witness the launch of their biggest fan – Luis Lucky Manzano. Quezon Avenue branch is one of the biggest I’ve visited for aside from having a large area for dining, this Shakey’s branch also got a function room for private occasions and an arcade area for the kids (and kids-at-heart).
