A Taste of Home at Café Gervacios in Davao City

There are cafés you visit for coffee… and then there are cafés you come back to because they feel like home.

That’s exactly what we found during our first visit to Café Gervacios in Davao City.

At first glance, it’s a beautifully designed pastry café—clean, inviting, and perfect for a slow afternoon. But as you sit down, order your food, and take your first bite, you begin to realize that this place is more than just aesthetics. There’s a story here—one rooted in family, legacy, and a deep love for gathering over good food.

Best Coffee shop in Davao City - Cafe Gervacios

One thing that immediately caught our attention was the name: Gervacios—not Gervacio’s.

It turns out, the name honors two Gervacios in the family: Gervacio Valencia Ramirez (fondly known as “Gerry”) and Manuel Gervacio “Boboy” Ramirez. It’s a small detail, but it already says a lot about what this café stands for—family first.

Café Gervacios is part of Gerry-Bel’s Foods, Inc., a company built on the legacy of Gerry and Annabel “Bel” Ramirez. And at the heart of it all is Chef Boboy, whose pastries have already gained recognition locally.

You can really feel that this isn’t just a business—it’s a continuation of something personal.

More Than a Café—It’s a Gathering Place

What makes Café Gervacios stand out isn’t just the food—it’s the intention behind it.

Their philosophy is simple but powerful:
to bring people together over delightful meals.

And honestly, you feel it. The space doesn’t feel intimidating or overly curated—it feels warm, welcoming, and designed for conversations. Parang extension ng dining table sa bahay—kung saan may kwentuhan, tawanan, at good food.

What We Tried (and Loved)

Of course, we came for the food—and Café Gervacios definitely delivered.

Croissants (Must-Try!)

We started with their croissants, and these alone are worth the visit. Their were a lot try but we can only handle a few.

  • Tiramisu Croissant (₱268) – Rich, creamy, and indulgent. Perfect balance of coffee and sweetness without being overwhelming.
  • Ube Croissant (₱170) – I love this one! Ube has been making a lot of buzz lately internationaly and I can say, this one has a local twist and was done right. Subtle ube flavor with that flaky, buttery texture you’d expect from a good croissant.

Drinks

Their beverage menu complements the food really well.

Ube Matcha

Ube Matcha (₱238) – Unique combo that actually works—earthy meets sweet.

  • Salted Caramel Latte (₱170) – Smooth with just the right hint of sweetness and saltiness. I opted the Hot Salted Caramel Latte, same price, I find the hot drink more comforting at the moment.
Matchagatto at Cafe Gervacios

Matchagatto (₱255) – A fun, slightly indulgent treat for matcha lovers.

Savory Dishes

Their menu isn’t just pastries—they also serve hearty meals that feel both comforting and elevated.

  • Gerry’s Longganisa Toast (₱348) – Classic Filipino breakfast, but done with finesse. Sweet, garlicky, and satisfying.
  • Cheeseburger (₱398) – Juicy, flavorful, and well-balanced. A solid café burger.
  • Green Goddess Quinoa Salad (₱568) – Fresh, vibrant, and surprisingly filling. Great option if you want something lighter.
  • Homemade Corned Beef (₱388) – Tender, savory, and packed with flavor—definitely one of those dishes that feels like home.

Desserts to End the Visit

We couldn’t leave without trying their cakes—and they didn’t disappoint.

  • Mocha Caramel Latte Cake (₱268) – Light, creamy, and not too sweet—perfect with coffee.
  • Le Petit Durian (₱265) – A bold choice, but surprisingly well-balanced. Sorry to say but I’m not really a fan of durian, but this one is just suttle, it doenst have that after taste you’ll find when you ate something with a strong flavor. If you are same with me and wanted to try durian, I highly recomend you to try this one.
