Smartphones have been a big help to our day to day life. I personally used it for work, entertainment, and leisure. It’s my body from the moment I wake till before bed. And to fully maximize its functionality, installing different applications plays a big part.
Just recently (December 2019 to be exact), Huawei unveiled Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) 4.0. HMS is Huawei’s alternative to Google Mobile Services which includes the AppGallery, Huawei Video, Huawei Music, and Huawei Wallet. And just the start of the year 2020, it was said that over 50,000 apps have already been integrated with the HMS Core.
And with my new Matepad Pro on hand, I guess it would be the best time to really explore the AppGallery to check out what’s in store for us when you purchase a Huawei gadget.

Huawei AppGallery Store is the official Huawei app store where you can download hundreds of Android applications. It wasn’t my first time browsing the AppGallery but I felt that it improved a lot since the last time I access it.
It consists of 18 different categories that include games, entertainment, socials, photo and video, travel, etc. Being a long time user of both the Google Play and App Store, I have no problems being introduced to a new store as long as it gives me the essentials I needed. Just like what I said, applications play a big part in maximizing the use of a gadget.
The main reason I got my Huawei MatePad Pro is to be an alternative for my laptop, meaning it will be basically used for socials and work. Hence the first things that I downloaded include Office, Facebook, Instagram, Shareit, and Viber.
And because email is an important part of my work, the first thing I did is to connect my Gmail account on the app called EMAIL. This is a very convenient app, especially that you can also connect your emails from other accounts and check it in one hub.
Microsoft office is available on Huawei AppGallery. Just search “Office” on the browser tab, then it will show results like WPS Office and Microsoft Office. The WPS office is an office similar to Microsoft and it is free. Microsoft Office works normally as well even if you sign in with your own Office 360 account.
A preinstalled Nebo is actually a very powerful app for note-taking using your M-Pen. I personally like this application for the reason that I missed writing and taking notes like a real notebook. I can even draw and edit different structures on it.

Working as a Social Media Manager, social media apps play a big role in my job. Hence installing social media essentials like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter and even Snapchat is a must. But as of the moment, Facebook and Instagram aren’t available at the app yet. But no worries, you can simply get these apps using your other android phones through Phone Clone. Actually, most apps can be transferred this way conveniently.
Same as FB and IG, Youtube isn’t available yet on the AppGallery but the Huawei Browser can simply solve that problem. A link is already added at the bookmark, making it much easier for you to access the site. And guess what, it actually felt the same as the usual app itself.
Other Android apps can also be added to the device by using different ways. Let me show you some of the ways on how to do it.
- By downloading the app directly at the Huawei AppGallery
- By downloading AppGo in the Huawei AppGallery store where you explore additional applications
- By downloading the application using third-party app marketplace like APKPure
- The last will be by Phone Cloning all your apps from your old phone.
What I did with my Huawei Matepad Pro were the first three processes. Actually most of the applications I downloaded at the APKPure store worked pretty well with my Matepad Pro. Other applications that I installed includes services and travel apps like GCash, BDO Online, GCash, Lazada, and Booking.

Another thing that I truly love about the Huawei AppGallery is the promos and rebate that you can get when purchasing different Huawei In-App Purchases. I was able to try this before especially that I am a KUMU Livestreamer. Whenever I’ll be doing a top-up, I do it at the Huawei AppGallery to gain additional discounts.
The AppGallery also currently has the Download Apps and Win Promo where you can possibly win different Huawei Products just by downloading different applications. Promo runs until June 30th, 2020. You can simply check the Huawei AppGallery to get more information about it.
All in all, The Huawei AppGallery serves its purpose especially to how I want to customize my gadget. It got a decent source of applications and I have hopes that pretty soon more applications will be added to the AppGallery.
