6 Ways to shake away sadness + OPM Hugot Playlist for Bittersweet Senti feels

Goya Dark Chocolate Senti Moments

We all have our own moments of sadness. It may be because of heartbreak, family problems, and conflicts in life or simply due to the weather (Rainy days sometimes makes me sad, are you?). There are even sad moments that just unexpectedly happen, like out of nowhere. One time you are happy, the next you are all sad and blue. I guess it is how life goes, and it is really up to you on how you handle it.

It isn’t bad to be sad, but too much of it is dangerous. As we all probably know, just recently depression have become an issue to a lot of people, and we do not want that to happen.

Whenever my sadness strikes, it is either I’ll seek for something that makes me happy or I just let it out. Either way it helps. Here are some of the ways on how I shake away sadness in my life;

Note: This is a personal list that you could try but doesn’t necessarily means will work to everybody

6 Ways on how I shake away Sadness

  1. Do something that makes you happy – Sometimes when I am sad and alone, I turn on the music in the house and dance (or sing). I just belt it out and let it go. I’m not a good dancer but just by going with the rhythm helps. Dance till you drop as they said it. Deal with a hobby or do something that you know can make you smile.
  2. Be Social – Seek the comfort of others. It is okay to just call a friend and talk. Release the anxiety that you are feeling. It helps. Being surrounded with positive friends can also bring you back to the happy zone.
  3. Get out of your comfort zone – Do you have that feeling that you wanted to do crazy stuff whenever you feel sad? I think it is an outlet. Being out of your comfort zone can give you this heightened feeling of excitement that could eventually cover up your feeling of sadness.
  4. Write it down – When I was still young, I have this habit of writing down my feelings in a diary/journal. I was being true to myself every time I write down situations of my life in that journal. And this helps me release the feeling I am experiencing. Try to write down what you feel, it will sure help you ease the sadness.
  5. Change attitude to gratitude – You are one lucky person. Think about that. Remember those situations in your life that makes you feel luckier than the others. Is it just fair to think that they should feel even sadder than you but they aren’t? I guess it is a matter of contentment. Change your attitude to gratitude and be thankful.
  6. It is okay to be sad – Give yourself time to be sad. It is okay. Let it go. Cry if its needed. Be in your comfort zone and let it all out.

Whenever I decided to do #6, I sometimes queue my OPM Hugot playlist along with it. Funny to think about it, that it somehow felt like it was a scene in a movie that you were just there in bed, crying, while Moira is singing her songMalaya”. Then the rain will fall in your windowpane while Jeremiah’s “Nanghihinayang” plays in your list. Then in desperation, I mostly grab my number 1 companion, this dark but bittersweet and luscious taste Goya’s Dark Chocolate I’d love to indulge in while Erik Santos’ “Say you’ll never go” plays in the background.

That bittersweet senti feels coupled with dark and gloomy weather can really be heightened by a senti playlist (and chocolates).

Check out my OPM Hugot Playlist via Globe Spotify and do follow, I add up new music in the list regularly.

Now shake away those worries for I got a surprise to all of you.
