Karnitas Korner #ANYversary

Pasig CityDiscovering places to dine in is something I usually do on my free time. But sometimes I felt limited near my place (which is in Quezon City). That is why when I was invited by a friend to visit this hole-a –wall in Pasig City, I did not hesitated (well I did a little lol!).

Karnitas Korner is a go-to place where people can enjoy gourmet dish and Porchetta (which is their main dish) in a casual dining setup. Yup! You read that right, Porchetta, that yummy, savory, fatty, and moist boneless roast pork.

Porchetta

Imagine that pork loin arranged carefully with layers of stuffing-meat, fat, crispy skin and garlic, rosemary, fennel, or other herbs, rolled and roasted, traditionally over wood. Well, for a time, I was speechless.

#Porchetta Overload at @karnitaskorner makes my mouth shut for a bit. #yum! #nognoginthecity | check out what i’ve tasted soon on my blog #anyversary #karnitaskorner _______________________________________________ Visit www.nognoginthecity.com

Carnitas means small pieces of meat. It refers to the sliced porchetta cut into small pieces and added to different dishes like Porchetta Tacos, Porchetta Carbonara and Porchetta Nachos. So if you craving for a porchetta, you know now where to go!

How to go there:

 If you’re coming from either North or South of EDSA;

Via MRT: Go down at Shaw Blvd. Station, ride a jeep or FX going to Pasig palengke or any jeepney that will pass by Capitol Commons. Go down at Capitol Commons, walk towards West Capitol Dr., turn right on San Rafael St., then turn left on the 1st. street, then turn right again at the Phil-Am drive, Karnitas korner is just a few walks away from the corner.

(Heres how to get to Capitol Commons or Estancia Mall)

#Anyversary Event

So with a bit of hesitation, I still visited the place. As always traffic in EDSA was horrible, I just hope that on my arrival at the venue, this hesitation would wear off. And upon presenting what they offer, it did!

By the way, Karniras Korner’s 1s ANYversarry is their tribute for everyone to celebrate everyday victories, simple miracles or little joys with a porchetta!

What to Order:

Here’s what I had;

Porchetta Tacos (Php 185) Porchetta, herd-roasted corn slaw, crispy pork rinds, sweet chili sauce, with chipotle sour cream on the side.

Poutine (Php 125) Fries, homemade cheese sauce, gravy, jalapeños, sweet longanisa

Porchetta Caesar Salad (Php 165) – A classic Caesar salad with porchetta bits.

Porchetta Rice Dish (Php 185) – succulent pork loin oven-roasted to perfection, with steam rice,soft boiled egg, and roasted corn slaw.

Iced Green tea with Lychee (Php 50)

Most of their servings are for sharing, even the Porchetta Rice Dish is a bit big for my appetite. Eating porchetta alone is delectable, but when It was mix along with egg, rice and corn slaw, I find it a bit blant, so I tend to put on some seasonings with it.

I love the Porchetta Caesar Salad and Poutine (specially the sweet longanisa).
