✪ For its 58th edition, Manila FAME, the leading lifestyle and design exposition in Southeast Asia, puts the spotlight on Manila Wear— the foremost destination for the hottest in resort and tropical wear. The Center for International Trade Exhibitions and Missions (CITEM), in close partnership with renowned international fashion designer Josie Natori, unveils the creations of the country’s leading and up-and-coming fashion and accessories designers at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City on 17-20 October 2013.

In a gathering of the country’s fashion stalwarts showcasing their trend forecasts and techniques for next year’s resort wear trend, Manila Wear combines the regional craftsmanship excellence of the Philippines with the individual creativity of its featured designers to offer that distinct Filipino flair to international fashion.

Fashion designers like JC Buendia, Happy Andrada, and Carissa Cruz-Evangelista reveal apparel that evokes both tradition and innovation. Bag designers Amina Aranaz- Alunan, Lally Cruz-Dizon, and Adante Layesa re-imagine the trend of toting with the tropical textures and touches of the islands. While the fine jewelry and accessories from the collections of Arnel Papa, Joyce Makitalo, Nicole Whisenhunt, and Joel Escober are stunners to behold and beget.

Manila Wear also gathers 10 dynamic artists and designers, each in a special showcase. Sculptors Jinggoy Buensuceso’s three-dimensional raw-modernism and Olivia D’Aboville’s eco- conscious imaginings reveal ambiance-setting installations with a focus on materials and shapes. Contemporary artist Leeroy New, photographer Wawi Navarossa and paper artist Wataru Sakuma delve on tint, texture, and thoughtful transcendences while young fashion designers Eric delos Santos, Twinkle Ferraren, Vania Rommof, Veejay Floresca, and Tipay Caintic unveil potentials and provocations in Philippine fashion.

Eminent international guests which include British fashion mover Collin McDowell, the mind behind United Kingdom’s (UK) Fashion Fringe, and Nikki Rowntree, global trendsetter and creative consultant to the fashion industries of countries such as Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK round up the exciting Manila Wear edition.
