Bamboo rocks Philam Life on its 65th year

Bamboo performing hist newest single “Basta’t May Plano, Kaya mo yan”

To celebrate its 65th anniversary, Philam Life launches a brand new campaign that features four stories of actual Philam Life plan holders and beneficiaries. The story of an OFW who makes a living taking care of other people’s children while missing her own. The story of a businesswoman who lives out her dream of travelling the world. The story of a newly-widowed mother suddenly faced with taking care of her five children and fighting eviction all on her own. And the story of a young couple struggling to make sure their little daughter gets the education she deserves.

These stories show how real people, people just like you, can overcome obstacles, triumph over tragedy, and accomplish what they’ve always wanted for themselves and their loved ones with the help of the right plan.

REAL COLLABORATION

To capture the authenticity of these stories, Philam Life collaborated with an expert in bringing real stories to life – Paolo Villaluna, the local and international award-winning filmmaker who also directs the acclaimed weekly documentary series STORYLINE.

To capture the raw emotion of these stories in a song while conveying the message of empowerment in a young and dynamic way, Philam Life tapped a true Pinoy rock icon and one of the country’s most powerful musical artists – Bamboo.

Together with these brilliant creative minds and DDB Phils., Philam Life co-created an emotionally compelling multimedia campaign with one simple message:

Anumang pagsubok, malalampasan.
Anumang pangarap, makakamtan.
Basta’t may plano, kaya mo yan.

THE EVENT: “Basta’t May Plano Kaya Mo Yan” DJ and Blogger Launch

Im always been a fan of Bamboo ever since he started. And I’ve been around attending different gigs and been given great privileges to attend his different album launches.

after 6 years … see the difference?

And it’s good to hear that bamboo is back to rock the music scene once again. I just felt different whenever I watched Bamboo get on the stage and perform . Its like he becomes a different person, a total package of a performer and his soulful voice is just “Wow! Astig!

Thanks to Philam Life for giving us again the chance to witness and hear the magical music of Bamboo!

Bamboo performs on stage at Seventh High in Bonifacio Global City

At Philam Life’s 65th Anniversary held at Seventh High Club in Bonifacio Global City, Bloggers and DJ’s were invited to witness the event.

Bloggers, DJ’s and other guests records and took some pictures of Bamboo

When I received the email about Philam Life throwing away a gathering for bloggers with Bamboo, I instantly signed up knowing that only 30 slots for bloggers were available. And I’ts really worth it!

The event started a bit late from scheduled, around 8:30 pm I guess, a few minutes before I came at the club. I’ve seen few familiar bloggers and some DJ’s from different stations. The event was hosted by DJ Gino Quillamor of the “Morning Rush” of RX 93.1 and Ms. Lits Ong, advertising officer of Philam Life.

They also have a twitter contest for that night for the best sentence construction by completing the phrase that starts with”Plano ko ____ then hash-tagging #bastatmayplano #bambooisback, which I’m so eager to join.

When the stage was set and ready , Philam Life’s VP for Marketing,  told us a short introduction on how Philam Life will somehow change its image a bit different from other insurance companies. Philam Life  wanted to be more attached to the people, More connected with there goal of  having every household to obtain a Philam Life insurance.

Ms. Iska Abaya, Sr of Philam Life

The nights highlight was with Bamboo performing an original song written by himself inspired from Philam Life’s campaign. The crowd goes wild when Bamboo has been called up on stage. He perform the single “Basta’t may plano, Kaya mo yan” its a very inspiring song about doing things the right way and making plans on how you will pursue your life and make the best out of it.

After the wonderful performance by Bamboo, an open forum has been conducted. One of the question that struck me the most that  I guess a lot of people would want to know and yet didn’t bother to asked is to know why Bamboo was named as ‘bamboo’. And ironically, this question came from a kid.

Bamboo answered nicely saying that it was off course the name given by his parents, telling him stories about the bamboo tree and how it represents resilience and strength to withstand different weather condition.

Cool ei! All along I thought Bamboo was just a nickname or something or a name he calls himself to make him different from other artist, Hehe, but now I know.

After the short Q & A, Bamboo once again performed 3 more hits which includes ‘Ikot ng Mundo’, the song ‘Englishman in New York’, and a rendition of Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror which really rocks!

The audience shouted for more, and as requested , Bamboo performed one of his many hit single “Hallelujah” which he sang with a new psuedo-opening.

At the end of the event, winners were announced for the twitter contest and luckily I was picked to have post the best twitter pic for the night! Yey!

the winning pic!

I won 2k gift certificate from Rustans! Nice, Let’s go shopping! Before we leave the venue, Bamboo gave us some more time to sign autographs and take some fan picture.
