Continuing our adventures in Davao City, we found ourselves in front of Lachi’s. The cab driver that brought us at the place even agreed and told us that this is one of the best restaurants in Davao City. It was pass 2 in the afternoon when we arrive. We are so starving we could eat everything on our table.

Lachi’s Sans Rival

It was our Davao Blogger friend’s idea to be at the place and Lachi’s has been too generous to serve us almost everything in the menu. Like literally, food was overflowing.

Lachi’s in Davao City is quite modest. I think table turnover are fast but still people build up easily specially on lunch and dinner. When we arrive there’s a queue and some are lined up for takeout’s, thankfully, our Davao Blogger friends reserved a table for us.

Roxas Night Market

barbecue and siomai at Roxas Ave Davao City (1 of 9)

Continuing our matchy outfits – Red & Stripes!

Later that night, we decided to explore the city, ride a Jeepney and head straight to the popular night market at Roxas Avenue.

Roxas Night Market

The Roxas Night Market is located in the middle of Roxas Avenue, in front of Ateneo de Davao University and Aldevinco Shopping center. The long stretch was closed and is full of small stalls that range from food to even jewelries.

Roxas Night Market

I’ve only heard about this place right after the tragic bombing incident last 2016. And since then, the vicinity was given full security system with guards placed end to end and in different areas within the place.

Roxas Night Market

The place actually is somewhat similar to Baguio’s Night Market.

Barbecue in all kinds are popular in this place. Most of the foods are Halal but some stalls are also selling fish and pork dishes. You can buy pork bbq here priced at Php 5 (USD 0.099), Siomai are also interesting here for they sell it in bite sizes, like ¼ of the usual Siomai size here in Manila.

The Coffee Grounds

A few blocks away at the end of the Roxas Ave., a popular-instagrammable coffee shop is located. The Coffee Grounds is a perfect place to cap the night after a long busy day. From the night market, it took us around 7-minute to reach the coffee shop. I actually felt that the street of Roxas Avenue kind of resembles the area we rented in Siem Reap, Cambodia. (Check out my Siem Reap video here)

The coffee shop is highly suggested by Davao bloggers and it didn’t fail to impress us. It got the usual vibe or bricks and dark wood, with metal fixtures and art. Most of the diners are studying or either just hanging out with friends. We found ourselves comfy at the second floor where it is more secluded and intimate. Food ranges from coffee, pizza, cakes and pastas. The coffee shop got a particular kind of market and could be a bit pricy for some. But what we ordered, I can say, is superbly good!
