Traversing Mt. Pamitinan and Wawa Dam in Montalban, Rizal

Looking at this scenic view, I remember a myth that was told when I was still in elementary. It was a story about Bernardo Carpio, a man with a strength that was similar to Hercules and was told to cause earthquakes and separated this mountain in Montalban. It was long time ago and yet this was the first time I ever witness this scenery here in Rizal. It was the mountains called Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Binakayan.

How to go to Wawa Dam, Rodriguez in Rizal Province

Wawa Dam, also known as Montalban Dam, is a gravity dam constructed in 1909 during the American colonial era to provide the water needs for Metro Manila. It is situated in the municipality of Rodriguez in Rizal Province, Philippines in a 360-meter (1,180 ft) high Wawa gorge, a water gap in the Sierra Madre Mountains, east of Manila. The abandoned dam, is now considered as a tourist destination mostly visited by local and foreign tourist in summer months.
