Ilocos Sur’s Santorini, Greece Inspired Hotel – Santiago Cove Hotel

Santiago, one of Ilocos Sur’s 32 municipalities, is a veritable treasure trove of untold natural beauty just waiting to be discovered. Located a short distance south of medieval Vigan, this tiny village shines with a wealth of natural beauty, cultural attractions, and culinary delights.

The name of this place wasn’t familiar to me until only a few weeks ago. Furthermore, my personal observations, and experiences and those made by others, I can personally say that Santiago has great potential to develop into a tourist hotspot.

They say your visit in Ilocos Norte wouldn’t be complete without seeing the iconic Bangui Wind Farm. And I do agree! It was the last day of our travel when we finally said to ourselves; “We need to pay an extra P500 (for the tricycle services) just to do the Southbound Tour”, that includes Burgos and Bangui via Pagudpud. And it wasn’t a bad decision at all. After all, travelling to Pagudpud for 13 hours via bus is already a sacrifice we made and it would be a lost to miss the most exciting part.
