Globe, in partnership with Provenance Art Gallery, held a private art vernissage and silent auction last June 5, 2025, at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. The event brought together art, advocacy, and society leaders in support of the Hapag Movement, a Globe-led initiative that addresses involuntary hunger in the Philippines.
Reaffirming its commitment to addressing involuntary hunger, SMAC has donated Php 14.93 million to Globe’s Hapag Movement, marking a significant milestone in Globe’s drive to beat involuntary hunger and uplift communities across the country in time for World Food Day.
Globe, SM Development Corporation (SMDC), and Scholars of Sustenance Philippines have united in a powerful alliance to combat involuntary hunger through the Hapag Movement. This collaboration aims to rescue over 110 tons of surplus food from SMDC developments, transforming it into 450,000 meals for 90,000 families over the next 18 months.
Around 15 million Filipinos reportedly experienced involuntary hunger last year, according to the Social Weather Stations. This continuing struggle came amid the lingering pandemic in the country which, at its height, saw record unemployment rates and an economic downturn.
