Never had I imagine that theres a place like this in Quezon City, a serene setting perfect for a romantic night, with a view of the cityscape and millions of stars to glance, this is Meranti Hotel.
I got a chance to stay here over night and experience how romantic the place could be. Read on to know more about it.
Meranti hotel at first look
It was a long day for me, I came from the office and went straight at Meranti which is just 15 minutes away from our office.
Earlier, I ask my friend Duane to join me in the staycation for I felt it would be a bit sad enjoying the room alone, he agreed. My friend, Ruth was also in the area (and she wanted to watch her favorite TV series – Ang Probinsyano) so I told her, maybe she can watch the series once I came in the room.
It was already 7 in the evening when we came in the hotel. We were 5 hours late from the check-in, but I think it’s okay. The lavish interior in earthly tone are the view you’ll see once you enter the vicinity.
The ceiling got this unique cylinder like design which makes me reminisce the snack I love to eat when I was a kid. I just forgot the name but if your a kid of the 90’s you’ll probably can relate to me.
A refreshing drink was also serve to us when we came in.
After getting our key card, we went up to our room at 704. I wasn’t really expecting much for a hotel room within Quezon City, because I really do felt that lavish rooms can only be acquired in Makati, Ortigas, Alabang or Taguig, but this one is an exception!
After opening the door, the first word that came into my mouth is – WOW! (not kidding!). Maybe because, just like I said, It was not really something I expected. It got big doors, spacious room, big bed, high ceiling, spotless clean and simple interiors, cute kawaii toiletries, everything is nice and new.
A wine and some strawberry dip in chocolate was also waiting for us in our bed.
Romantic Dinner Date for Two at Meranti Hotel
I wasn’t really expecting that this is a date night! We weren’t prepared for it, but nevertheless, friends do date as well right?
Meranti Hotel let us experience the serene, calm and delightful scene of an evening date. We had our dinner at the rooftop, it was just six tables with six pairs. I was with Duane, while Ruth and MJ was on the other table. Jill (the Foodscout) was also their with his soon- to-be husband.
It was a quiet, intimate date night. Unfortunately, we really couldn’t help it, so we decided to ask the servers for the four us (Ruh, MJ, Duane and Me) to be placed outside, for we were too noisy and was ruining the romantic scene. It was a lovely night and we don’t want to ruin it for them.
The food was excellent! I totally love the soup and the Entree! Here’s what we shared in the night
Valentine’s Menu
Soup – Chilled Avocado & Mint Soup
Salad – Salad of goat’s cheese, Parma ham and beetroot
Appetizer – Salmon fish cakes with rocket, capers and lime dressing
Pasta – Penne with hazel gremolata and roasted broccolini
Entree – Osso Buco with tomatoes and Olive
Dessert – Red Velvet Lava Cake and 1 Bottle of Red Wine
If you plan to bring a date this February, Meranti Hotel is just a perfect place for you, it got the view and the food you are looking for. Plus you wouldn’t need to go far and brave the traffic if your just living within QC. A Romantic dinner for two costs Php 1, 500.00 which includes a bottle of red wine. If you plan to do an overnight stay just like what we did, you can avail the room, dinner plus breakfast for Php 5,000.00 (plus 20% discount in Meranti Cafe), that includes a six course dinner for two with a bottle of wine. We ended up the night with great talks about life, love and laugh, overlooking the city of Quezon City. It was indeed a lovely and memorable night. More photos here.
