Barista for a Day & Would be Everyday w/ the #Creamiestever Coffee-Mate

I am such a heavy coffee drinker, and with the kind of work that I have, I usually drink atleast 2 to 3 cups of coffee per day. Thou not really a fan of coffee shops, a portion of my grocery expenses for a month is allocated for buying coffee, creamer and sugar or to make my life easier I buy 3-in-1. Consistently drinking 3-1in-1 coffee sometimes makes me feel unexcited with the cup of coffee. Sometimes I think, maybe it would be more fun if I could create or mix my own concoction, aside from the big savings I could actually gain, I can even choose and adjust the proportion of the ingredients depending on my daily mood and taste.

The Coffemate Barista U I recently attended somehow make this idea concretely feasible! The short barista course lead by the creamiest ever brand Coffeemate last November 20, 2014 was held at this artsy gift and coffee shop Co/Op Cafe in San Juan.

Here are some photos of the venue.

It was a fun and exciting day with friends and coffee! Saw some new and familiar blogger faces who attended the event. I was there early and planned to leave early as well, but unfortunately it did not happen, because of the great preparations and  very fun activities we did, I decided to stay and finished the whole event.

I was assigned to be at table number 7 with bloggers Jill of the Foodscout, Cy of Fashion-Sage, and Cla Panuelos of the Tummy Train.

Fun because I see many familiar faces in the venue, saw Chef Hasset Go who paid a visit with his good friend Lloyd Garcia who incidentally would be one of our teacher barista in this short class of 2014.

My (handsome..ahem!) friend/blogger/entrepreneur/host, Eco Dela Sala, hosted the event in his blue and white ensemble and a “bram stocker’s Drakula” hairstyle. hahaha Peace bro!

Each participant were given a personalized apron and kits that will be using in the training. This would be fun! There is a small booklet as well where recipe’s that we are about to do are writen down. Hope I wouldn’t missed any of the steps here.

Our barista teachers was introduce first and each of them demonstrate simple to complex coffee concoctions.

Thats Lloyd Garcia at the far left.

Then the first challenge were set. We were asked to create our personalised Creamy Caramel Macchiato in 15 minutes (including the coffee art on top) guided off course by our Barista teachers. This seems difficult for starters yet fun and challenging as well. Creating the foamy latte was totally fun! You need a very creamy ingredient like the creamiest ever Coffee-mate to do that.

You can check out how my Creamy Caramel Macchiato looks like by visiting my Instagram account: @rodelflordeliz

The activity was then followed by a demo in creating a Creamy Yin Yang Coffee. Yin Yang Coffee or Yuanyang Coffee is traditionally made from coffee and Hong-Kong style milk tea.

Then a group activity followed. The tasked is to create a Creamy Cookies and Cream Iced Coffee. Not really good in mixing, I’m very supportive with the group hahaha!

Tadaaa! and heres the ultimate Teachers Pet (Creamy Cookies and Cream Iced Coffee).

As jJill suggested, we named it as “Teachers Pet”, she describe that in the classroom, there is usually a group that are most attentive, orderly and behave  (that would be us). We just follow what’s the instructions says and the result is simply how it should be, Amazing! hahaha!

Each group was very competitive! Everyone have their own gimmicks to lure the judges.

Unfortunately our coffee concoctions didnt please the judges that much. but hey, we had fun so its just okay!

Congratualtions to winning team (Ava’s group), and to Nicole Anderson, thank you for inviting us in your purrteyyy! hahaha! Winning Speech!

This has been one of my favorite events attended for the month of November! Hope theres more to come! More coffee please, with the #Creamiestever Coffe-Mate off course! Thank you NuffnangPH and Coffee-Mate for the wonderful take home goodies! Will try to re-create the recipes and be not just a Barista for a day but would be everyday!

Until our next trip in the City!
