✪ A lot of restaurants are always bragging on how delicious or unique the food they offer. We can hear establishments saying they got the best Adobo, or the best Bulalo, or the spiciest Buffalo wings etc. etc. Off course we couldn’t blame restaurants on doing so, this could be real to a lot but maybe not for some.

Then there’s the popular Crispy Pata, the popular Filipino dish consisting of deep fried pig trotters or knuckles served with a soy-vinegar dip.

Yes a lot are also bragging about how deliciously prepared their Crispy Pata is, but as we all known taste could always vary and could be very subjective. One dish could be delicious to you and for the others it maybe is not.

PAUL THE PR GUY
Do you Agree Paul? ヅ

Recently I have been introduced to this restaurant in Quezon City with a menu centered on pig! They have been known to serve, off course, the best Crispy Pata in Metro Manila. Will see about that in a bit …

The place could be a bit intimidating at first, but felt really homey as you enter. Livestock has a big spacious parking space at front, a main dining area, on the 2nd floor can be found a smoking area and on the third floor where the function room is located and a nice veranda area which I truly love!

livestock

This was my 2nd time to visit this place, thou I haven’t really focus on the food on my first visit but merely just enjoyed the conversation with my company, this time ill see to it to taste every food that will be brought on our table.

The Food

After doing a short rounds of the place, it was time for us to dine and have a taste of what Livestock could offer, and as to what everybody in the table was waiting for was the highlight of the night, to have a bite of that Crispy Pata that they describe that melts in the mouth … hmmm Im kinda starting to get hungry again while writing this down. We were serve a lot and was so full at the end of the dinner. I actually do love most of the dishes but will just be highlighting here some of the best dishes I would recommend and would really want to try again the next time I return at Livestock. Heres my Top list!

1. Drunken Mussels (Php 330)

Livestock

This soup/starter was definitely a great choice for someone who would be dining here for the first time. As to what the name says, this dish has large sized Mussels stewed in broth, beer and white wine-simmmered and served with spices added with a slice of buttered bread. Dipping the bread in the sauce is really perfect!

2. Livestock Caesar Salad (Php 230)

livestock

I really love the creamy Caesar dressing of the salad and offcourse the mouthwatering chopped pork belly. The livestock Caesar Salad’s serving could already be filling, especially if you’re leaning towards a healthy meal. The salad got romaine lettuce, croutons, and cherry tomatoes, shaved and grated parmesan cheese as well.

3. Lechon Tom Yum (Php 320)

livestock tom yum

Now the dinner is starting to get more exciting! If you do love Thai Food, you’ll definitely enjoy Livestock’s lechon Tom Yum. The hot and sour broth has that kicked of spiciness you’ll feel as it goes down your throat. Livestock’s lechon Tom Yum got vegetables, seafood and offcourse crispy lechon mixed on it.

4. Mushroom Duxelles Fish Fillet (Php289)

livestock

this dish is one of the best of thier non pork dishes and also one of my favorite. Mushroom Duxelles Fish Fillet is a dory pan fried lightly dusted with flour makibg it a little crispy then added with cream and bits of mushrooms making it a meaty and hearthy meal at the same time. i think this dish would be perfect with a white rice. 🙂

4. Melts In Your Mouth Crispy Pata (Php 590)
Crispy Pata
Yep! Thats a Popsicle stick

Now we came on the highlight of our dinner, presenting the Livestock’s Melts In Your Mouth Crispy Pata! hmmmm… the presentation simply is delicious and you’ll be more amaze when this pork has been cut open.

Yep! Thats a Popsicle stick! This crispy pata was suddenly cut open by that popsicle stick. that only proves how crispy this Crispy Pata is. According to the owners, It’s a trade secret, they have a special way of cooking and preparing this very special pork goodness. Yum! You should never miss this dish when you visit Livestock! See for your self!

We finished off with the sweet unique dessert called Livestock’s Bacon Ice Cream. It got bits of bacon on top of frech toast, added with maple syrup, sugar and honey. I go for a cup of coffee for this one.
