Marking its 10th Year, the TCS Clark Animo International Marathon is set to hold a more promising and exhilarating run ever made in their history on the 10th of March 2019. Led by the De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA) Pampanga Chapter, this years run is expected to have 10,000+ runners and will feature a 42.2 km marathon, a half marathon, as well as 10 km, 5km and 2.5 km course.
At the press conference held at Clark Global City recently, Atty. Melvin Panlilio, President of DLSAA proudly announced that this year would be different for all the courses of the event were given international certification by the International Association of Athletic Federations and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (IAAF-AIMS).

The IAAF-AIMS certification will provide a guarantee to runners that they have run the correct distance and, therefore, their recorded time are valid and will be recognized internationally for qualifying and rankings purposes.
“This is not only particularly important for runners who aim to join international races like the Boston Marathon, it is for all runners participating in this event. It is never a good outcome to train for a race like a marathon only to discover, after completing the event, that the course they finished did not have the correct distance and their time invalid,” explained by Race Director Jumbo Tayag.”
Personally, I haven’t really able to do a full marathon yet, but in my first 21k run (half-Marathon) I was ecstatically happy when I see my name in the ranking. I do believe that having a valid proof that you finished a particular race like this would be very important, especially if you are planning to do bigger races in the future. Clark Global City in the Future!
The Clark Animo International Marathon will be held in a new venue here at Clark Global City, which is actually being driven to become a sports destination venue for marathons, triathlons or simply fun runs.
And to make Animo Run’s 10th year more exciting, cash prizes will also be awarded to the first, second and third places of the 5 km, 10km, 21km and 42 km distances in both men’s and women’s categories. Also, if you are planning to be more playful with your outfit at the event, you might just be able to grab the best costume award for this year. Cash prizes are at stake for one runner each from the Adult (18 years old) and kiddie (17 years old below) categories.
This year’s races will see 1,200 participants from Tata Consultancy Services, one of the biggest call center companies in Clark, and a sponsor of the event as well.
Proceeds of the run will be used to fund DLSAA –P’s environmental and community projects like tree planting, maintenance of the Angeles City Watershed, support for the La Salle Botanical Gardens in Alviera, Porac, Pampanga, as well as the Yellow Boat Foundation for the marginal school children of coastal Pampanga.
Asking about the waste management after the run, the organizers proudly explained that they are prepared for it. This year they are also planning to used paper cups, which are three times more expensive than the usual plastic cups, but is more environmental friendly.

Commuting to Clark Global City – You can take the P2P buses located at Trinoma mall going to SM Clark. The service is operating almost 24 hours. Runners will also be provided a shuttle every 30 minutes at the SM Clark going to the venue on the race date.
