When we talk about Filipino artist who have created numerous hit songs and is still relevant in our era, APO Hiking Society would definitely pop in my mind. If you are someone who haven’t heard their name yet, well, you might have heard most of their hit songs that were remade by some of our local artist.
Some of it includes ‘Yakap sa Dilim’ by Orange and Lemons, ‘Ewan’ by Imago, ‘Doo Bidoo’ by Kamikazee, ‘Batang Bata ka pa’ by Sugrafree to name a few. These songs were actually part of 2006 Tribute Album ‘Kami nAPO muna’.
APO might have retired in 2010 but their music still lives on. And with many hits under their name, it could have been good to showcase it to another format.
In partnership with 9Works Theatrical, Eto na!Musikal nAPO! Is the first OPM musical production by Globe LIVE which will run from August 3 to 26, 2018 at the Globe Auditorium Maybank Performing Arts Theater in BGC.
Trivia: Did you know that APO started with 15 members in 1969! Whoah! I really thought they were just 3!

The musical play, Eto na! Musikal nAPO! Is a romantic comedy that explores the coming if age of seven friends who join a songwriting and singing contest for college students. The group experiences bumps in the road when composing the song for the competition and choosing who best to write it. The musical is set in the ‘70s, the golden era of OPM.
The play will also revolves around individual conflicts like love interest, parents, studies as well as the current political turmoil of Martial Law in that era.
Eto na! Musikal nAPO! Also stars Jep Philippe Go, Jobim Javier, Al Fritz Blanche, Jef Flores, Jon Abella, Vyen Villanueva, Rita Daniela, Sab Jose, Marika Sasaki, Raul Montesa, Neomi Gonzales, Anton Posadas, Joursan Bartolome, Gian Gloria, Shalee Vicencio, Peachy Guevara and Derrick Gozos.
