“Grab-A-Fitbar” is a project that aims to alleviate the hunger pangs and snacking worries of those stuck in traffic of Manila’s urban jungle.
Traffic is always a conversation piece whenever I travel across the globe. It is something foreigners are really interested with. I on the other hand, willingly tells them how exaggeratedly worst our traffic is. Well, I guess it isn’t really that of a secret, for as we know, Metro Manila ranked as 3rd in the worst traffic in the South East Asia just recently.
This has been one of the major problems we (Filipinos) in Metro Manila are really battling. If your a person who lives in Quezon City but works in Makati or BGC, good luck to you if you could even reach your place for an hour commuting during the rush hour. It is an everyday challenge. I myself have been battling this almost everyday.
For the record, Friday rush hour, on a salary day, with lots of Sale, and is raining is the worst situation I have been too. And in the middle traffic, you may either need to take a pee, or grab a bite.
How many times have you ever been hungry in the middle of your commute going home? (Many!)
This is one of the reason why Fitbar Philippines and Grab Philippines partner up to help snack the worries away of the Filipino commuter.
Fitbar and Grab team together to bring to the Filipino commuters the “Grab-A-Fitbar” Project which aims to reach 100,000 passengers within Metro Manila.
Inspired by the deep struggles of the Filipino trying to find their way home via their local commute, the “Grab-A-Fitbar” project aims to alleviate the hunger pangs and snacking worries of those stuck in traffic of Manila’s urban jungle.
Diana Aaron-Ong, Brand Manager of Fitbar shared, “I am a loyal Grab user because I love the attitude of most Grab drivers. One time, I was stuck in heavy traffic for almost 2 hours. I was hungry already. Then I remembered I had Fitbar in my bag. I shared the Fitbar with the driver, and he was so thankful. So, it dawned on me, I wanted to share Fitbar to other drivers and passengers too, to relieve them from hunger during heavy traffic.”
“Grab provides a safe, convenient and affordable transportation option to move around the city,” stated Cindy Toh, Country Marketing Head of Grab. “We are honored to be partners with Fitbar Philippines to help our fellow citizens not only reach their destinations way but also do so with healthy snacks in hand.”
“Based on a research we recently conducted, we found out that most Filipinos experience intense hunger while driving or commuting,” explained Aaron-Ong. Filipinos are becoming more and more health conscious about their snack choices. They want tastier snacks, which may be unhealthy, thus leading to guilt afterwards. Aaron-Ong continues, “Fitbar can satisfy these cravings, minus the guilt. Fitbar provides ‘snacking with no worry’.”
I actually love this idea, for aside that it will help the commuters, Fitbar you will find on Grab cars are totally FREE! Now this will give us more reasons to grab a fitbar!
