Rolan is a tricycle driver and been doing this job for quite a long time already. Amazingly, aside from his driving skills he was given a talent to write songs. And his job as a tricycle driver and God’s daily blessings inspires him to create a feel good song entitled  “IKAW NA LANG MAG-DRIVE NG BUHAY KO.”

Rolan’s song luckily has been included as one of the twelve finalist for this years “A Song of Praise Music festival 2015.”

Two days ago, I got a chance to meet the twelve finalist along with the interpreters at the press launch held at Elements in Centris. I personally knew a few of the interpreters this year and as always, was amazed to their performances.

ASOP Music Festival Year 4 Grand Finals night is on October 13, 2015, at 6pm, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. Judging this year’s competition are well known personalities in the music industry. They are Ryan Cayabyab, Celeste Legaspi, Mon del Rosario, Jungee Marcelo, Jett Pangan, and Lachmi Baviera.

ASOPTV Hosts Richard Reynoso and Toni Rose Gayda     And talking about prizes, at stake are;

 100 thousand pesos for the 3rd runner-up song.

150 thousand pesos for the 2nd runner-up song.

250 thousand pesos for the 1st runner-up song.

and 500 thousand pesos for the "Song of the Year"!

The best interpreter will also bag a prize of 50 thousand pesos.

    But even though this is a song praise competition, most of the composers say that being able to write a song of praise and for people to sing it is already a worthy prize for them. Winning the competition can be considered as a bonus! Asop 2015 press launch

What makes the ASOP unique for me is that the sound of the song entries is something that you would hear over the radio. The sound is so contemporary and got a commercial value you might not even notice that it’s a praise song, that you could probably be singing it after hearing it. Each got that LSS factor.

Want to have a copy of this year’s entry? Head on to www.asoptv.com and download the songs for FREE.

If you were given a talent to compose a song, what would you be writing? Comment on the box below.
