Traffic Jam problems? Ride a Bike

A few years ago, I got a chance to visit Hong-Kong. It was an amazing country to explore and it made me too excited to discover the wonders this place could give.

Before heading on our week tour, we first visited a friend living in Lantau Island, it was somehow comparable to a provincial place here in Manila but more advance. With Hong-Kong’s friendly pedestrian lanes, walking is definitely okay, but biking, is even better. Bicycle parking spaces as well as bike rentals are readily available on the place. I made me think that if only we can apply this kind of setup in the Philippines,  this could probably lessen traffic jam.

Unfortunately, bicycle use here in the Philippines is slowly subsiding. It was a bit unsatisfying realizing it. Gone were the days where bicycle roam the villages or parks. Though, we can still bring it back. I believe that.

Recently I heard about the campaign of Taiwan Excellence in bringing in products that can help improve the lives of Filipinos. The Taiwan Excellence campaign is organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), R.O.C. Taiwan, and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The campaign brings 56 top quality brands to the Philippine market one of which is the unique folding bikes. These bikes can help solve the problem when it comes to getting around Metro Manila.

I always wanted to own a folding bike and carry it everywhere, where I can use it not just for leisure or exercise but for work as well. I’m a bit excited about this project and I hope it would get a positive feedback to a lot of Filipinos. But before getting to know more about the product here are the benefits one could actually get in choosing to use bike to work.

Healthy mind and healthy body

Riding a bicycle instead of driving a car or taking public transportation can help one burn calories and strengthen one’s body.

Greener world

Riding a bicycle is also a good way to help Mother Nature as it doesn’t emit any pollutants or carbon gases, reducing one’s carbon footprint in the process.

Easier on the pockets

Riding a bicycle can also help a person lessen expenses. The money originally used for public transportation or putting fuel in one’s car can be used for something else.

See that? Isn’t that a lot for just a bike? Some of the brands that you should check out include Strida, Terd and Pacific. These are brands that aim to encourage more Filipinos to try riding bicycles as an alternative means of transportation, while helping Filipinos stay fit and save Mother Earth.

Because usability is its highest priority, this bike rides, folds and wheels fast and instinctively – without compromising in performance or handling. In less than 2 seconds, the IFmove transforms into a convenient package, weighing no more than 12kg!

Amazing right? Now think about that, I’m planning to have mine really soon. You can check out more about other Taiwan accredited brands and other products by visiting www.taiwanexcellence.ph/.
