Day Tour: Siargao Island Hopping Tour – Guyam Island, Naked Island, and Daku Island

A whole day is definitely recommended if you plan to do a Siargao Island Hopping tour in the Philippines. Aside from enjoying surfing, food, beach and scenery around the main tourist hub, General Luna, doing the Siargao Island Hopping tour will complete your trip to fully immerse your self in the place.

Siargao Island Hopping tour Guyam Island Naked Island Daku Island (2 of 37)

The three famous islands that you could include in your itinerary are Naked Island, Daku Island and Guyam Island. Each of these islands is only 15-20 minutes boat away from the town of General Luna. Hence if you are either doing a private tour or renting a boat, you can either let your tour guide/driver do the arrangement or suggest to them which one goes first specially if you have other plans like taking photos or such.

There are many ways on booking your Siargao Island Hopping tour, you can either ask your accommodation if they are hosting or have affiliate organizers doing the tours; there are also companies or online booking sites that gives that kind of services; or probably the easiest way is to go straight to the pier in General Luna in Siargao and find a local boatman who you can barter with and bring you to those places.

A small boat can usually accommodate 3-4 people and the tour usually costs around Php 1300- Php 1500 (USD 24- USD 28). There are other services that cost around Php 1000 per head; others are a bit cheaper but usually you’ll be touring with a bigger group.

When I visited Siargao last year, our Island Hopping Tour was organized by our accommodation. It was actually just okay for we are a big group consisting of friends travelling. Here is our itinerary:

  • 10am – Assembly at Bayud Siargao
  • 11am – Boat transfer to bigger boat
  • 11:30 – On our way to Guyam Island (We had lunch and spent more time in this island)
  • 2:00pm – Naked Island
  • 3:00pm – Daku Island
  • 4:30 pm – Back to General Luna

Again, the arrangement of the Island Hopping tour in Siargao can be rearrange, the usual track would be Naked Island, Daku and Guyam back to General Luna.

GUYAM ISLAND

Our first Stop in our Siargao Island Hopping tour was this small island in the middle of the ocean covered by coconut trees – Guyam Island. A friend of mine (who were about to be married) rented the whole island for a private lunch party, so literally we were the only people on that place. We had lunch Filipino style here and enjoyed the glistening white sand and turquoise-colored water for about an hour and a half.

NAKED ISLAND

Ready your flying drones for we can now peek in to this wonderful place called Naked Island. Just like how the name connotes, this tiny naked sandbar in the middle of the ocean got no trees or any signs of life there-in. It’s all sand surrounded by clear water. Actually, this is a perfect place to go snorkeling or free diving. Though there isn’t much to do here not unless you would want to go sunbathing which is perfect or take a lot of photos for Instagram. Spending 20-30 minutes in the island would actually be good.

DAKU ISLAND

Last in our Island Hopping Siargao itinerary is Daku Island. It was just a short 15 to 20-minute boat ride from Naked Island. The island is covered with luscious greens and is the largest island among the three. There are also nipa huts that you can enjoy. We only spent a few minutes in this island for it was already getting dark, technically just dropping by for the whole crew will still need to prep up for a dinner in Kermit Restaurant (which was just beside my rented space). | Book you Accommodation via Booking.com

After taking a few photos we are on our way back to General Luna pier.

There are other small islands that you can explore in Siargao but doing the Naked-Guyam-Daku route is recommended specially if it is your first time touring here. Dedicating a whole day to explore these three islands is also necessary so you could have enough time to enjoy each of the place and be back to the main island just in time for dinner.
