What to expect at the ‘Changing Partners: The Stage Musical’ Re-run

CHANGING PARTNERS, the critically acclaimed and award-winning musical, is returning to the stage this May 2018 at the PETA Theater. This is after the successful transition from theater play into film last 2017. I personally haven’t seen the play nor the movie thus the return will give me a chance to watch it along with the others on a much bigger stage —the 400-seater PETA-Phinma Theater. Returning casts Actors Agot Isidro, Jojit Lorenzo, Anna Luna, and Sandino Martin were overwhelmed on its comeback telling us that the musical play might have got the same flow like the previous but has a much better kick and flavor.

Director Rem Zamora, who directed the previous play, added that the upgrades you would be seeing in this re-run is a result learned from the previous run as well as the movie. There will also be a new stage, new musical arrangements as well as a cellist, Poch Gutierrez, who will provide live music accompaniment this time.

Given those reason, It is much easier to say that the re-run could be suited not just for first timers but also to those who have seen it before and/or became a fan of the play.

According to multi-awarded composer and writer Vincent A. DeJesus, the book, libretto, and music of Changing Partners were inspired by his own personal stories and of his friends. When asked how long it took him to write this piece his reply was, “A lifetime.

As the title have already implied, Changing Partners is a one love story plot presented in 4 different scenarios. Will not give you much spoilers so you better catch CHANGING PARTNERS: THE STAGE MUSICAL on its two-weekend run at the PETA-Phinma Theater, PETA Theater Center on May 11-13 and 19-20, 2018.
