I kidnapped a friend and conspired with another + we end up eating #DabestBBQ of Kalye BBQ in Antipolo City.

Before you get mad at me, first nobody’s been kidnapped and second my friend willingly join me in this road trip. In fact, she even hurriedly booked an uber ride from Timog avenue to Hollywood Terraces in Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City when she found out that the trip will only costs us Php 284. A hassle free road trip specially right after a relaxing facial.

But the story is not just about the road trip but what made us book a ride 18 km away from our location.

The night before, my friend enthusiastically told me that they are officially opening Kalye BBQ to the public. It is thier first sit down restaurant that started from a small kiosk in the same place – Hollywood Terraces.

They invited me over to try some of their specialties. So I tagged along Edward who is living 15 minutes away from the place and initially told Ruth that we will be just seeing him instead of telling her the other reason.

Kalye BBQ, #dabestBBQ

They are very lucky to have Kalye BBQ placed at Hollywood Terraces, which is located right beside a school. A perfect market for their delicious food choices. I had a short chitchat with my friends/owners of Kalye BBQ, Ryan and Mae Ramos. They’ve come a long way from putting up different concepts and risking a lot of things and eventually finding the right ingredient and seeing it now grow. They even shared to me some of their strategies and on how I could probably start my own, which I’m not going to reveal in this post. Maybe asked me personally if ever we bumped in to each other in the future.

It’s funny how I see it and being a host of a business show for more than 7 years but I still haven’t manage to put up my very own business. I guess there are just some talent or skill that is really hard to master. Or maybe I’m just too coward to gamble.

What to try at Kalye BBQ?

If visiting do not missed (of course) their BBQ! Also do check out Bonggang Binagoongan, Astig Sisig, Walang Kapares, Porkchop Bondat, Sus Dagupan Bangus and Kulet Bagnet. I love how they made the food names catchy as well as the hugot lines you’ll see on the walls of the restaurant. Meals are very reasonable starting at Php 59 with tropa meals that can be shared by 2-3 priced starting at Php 129.

And by the way, don’t give the crew a stare if ever they’ll call you “Bes”.

Yummy Colorful Drinks!

With Ryan Ramos, Mae Ramos and Rheena Villamor-Camara

Better visit specially if you are living within the area.  Thank you Ruth for joining me to the mountains (Antipolo lol!) and Edward for bringing Suman on our table. Thank you Kalye BBQ for the fun dinner.
