6th Pyro-Musical Competition

Dark skies … Green grass… Love song … Fireworks … elements then when combined could make a scene romantic specially if your with someone special.

I got a chance to experience all of these at the same time. Unfortunately all by my self (looser), but it’s okay. Watching it alone is already worth the experience.

Last February 21, 2015 (Saturday) I was assigned to cover (yup this is work) the 6th Philippine International Pyro-Musical Competition held at SM by the bay. It’s a six-week competition held every Saturday starting from February 7 up to March 14, 2015.

I was there with the whole crew of WISH 107.5 riding the WISH1075 Bus.

The Pyro-Musical Competition is co-produced and organized by Platinum Fireworks Inc., they are known to manufacture the best fireworks and produced a worthy fireworks presentation as well. Platinum Fireworks Inc. biggest competition achievements to date are winning in prestigious competitions such as People’s Choice Award at the 2011 Globalfest Pyromusical Competition in Calgary, Canada, and the Best show and Zeus Trophy in the 2013’s Les Grand Feux Du Casino Du Lacleamy (sounds of lights) in Gattineau, Ottawa, Canada.

This year 10 countries are competing:

February 7, 2015

Philippines – Platinum Fireworks (Host Country)

Japan – Akariya Fireworks

Feb. 14, 2015

Italy – Martarello Group

Brazil – Vision Show Group

Feb. 21, 2015

And because the Philippines is the host country, we are not included in the competition. But expectator can still watch the Philippines presentation at the opening and the closing day of the event.

I got a chance to watch Mexico and Netherland’s entry. This is my first time to attend this event and it was awesome! Both entries, I guess runs from 15-20 minutes each. Here’s a clip from the Mexico’s entry.

I got the privilege to chat with some of the key persons of the event. According to Mr. Joel Sta. Ana, Platinum Fireworks, there are still a lot to look forward to these coming weeks. Some of the countries to watch out includes China which is known to be the biggest manufacturer of fireworks, United Kingdom, which was a two time champion of the Philippine Pyromusical Competition and finally Canada, which was the Grand Winner of last years event.

If you plan to surprise your partner try to consider bringing her/him here at the event. You still got 3 more weeks to go, and tickets are available in Php 100, Php 300, Php 500 (VIP) and if you opt to have dinner while enjoying the scene then avail the patron seats (Php 1,500) which is the best view to watch the sky full of fireworks.
