Nippon Paint Young Designer Awards 2014 Welcomes Filipino Architects and Interior Designers

Filipino Architecture and Interior Design students now have a chance to win the prestigious Nippon Paint Young Designer Award (NPYDA), a recognition. That aims to inspire students acrooss 10 countries in the Asia Pacific region to apply creativity and innovation in improving their communities.

With the theme ‘Re:Think. Re:Create Our Community, Our. Home.’ Participating students are challenged in line with Nippon Paint’s business philosophy of helping cultivate young talent by driving them to a new standards of excellence and providing them greater visibility and exposure not only in the Philippines but throughout the Asia Pacific region.

NPYDA consist of two categories – architecture and interior design, both open to students who are at least on their third year from scholls affiliated with the United Architectures of the zphilippines and the Philippine Institute of Interior Designer.

Criteria of Judging
Green deisgn elements (30%)
Colour Elements (30%)
Planning and Design (30%)
Design and statement plus site planning in architecture category (10%)

Deadline of Submission : October 31,2014

Gold Awardee will win Php 50,000 cash prize, 6 month internship at Lor Calma & partners plus a fully-paid trip to Japan for the Japan Learning Program.

The Winners professor/adviser will also get Php 10,000 cash prize while his or her academic institution will receive Php 10,000 cash prize and Php 10,000 worth of paint voucher.


Silver Awardee will recive Php 30,000 cash prize and a plaque. Eight finalist will get Php 10,000 each. Special awards will also be given out to Best Colour Choice and Best Green Innovation with Php 5,000 cash prize each.

The Gold winner per category from the Philippines will be attending the cross country learning program in Osaka Japan in March 2015 with other winners from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan, China, Japan and Hong Kong.
