ONE FC‘s newest top signing, Ben Askren visited Manila  as part of a 5-city tour across Asia as part of promotional efforts for his upcoming bout at ONE FC: HONOR & GLORY later this month. Media asked few questions about his preparation for the upcoming event.

When asked about his change in opponent from a potential title bout to facing Bakhtiyar Abbasov, “It doesn’t concern me. Injuries are a part of the sport and I’m excited to get back into the cage and compete with whoever ONE FC puts in front of me.”

When questions about his fighting style, “I’m going to do what I have to do. I am Ben Askren, and that’s how I fight and will always going to fight. It’s a level of perspective. I’m going to do what I need to do.

When asked about teaching wrestling in the Philippines, “I will love to get that opportunity. The Philippines have produced so many great fighters and if I get that chance, I will definitely do it!

When asked about the pressure he faces, “I love it! You got to embrace the pressure. I have the pressure for a reason. I’m undefeated and I know there’s a target on my back and I want everybody to give me their best fight. I don’t want easy fights.”

When asked for a message to Bakhtiyar Abbasov and the rest of the welterweight division, “Be ready! I’m coming!
