✪ Started from a small craving, now,  the TV personality turned entrepreneur LJ Moreno-Alapag is earning the success of her self-owned business.

The lollicake factory

In my recent visit to her newly opened store located at the Ground Floor, 103 Westdale Residences Brgy. Kapitolyo Pasig City, LJ willingly told me the story behind her newest baby.

Lollicakes was first introduce to her by her wedding planner on her wedding day preparation in the US. Aside from the delicious tastes of the lollipop-shaped cake, LJ Moreno was hooked and became very curious on lollicakes. It was the Red Velvet cake that caught her attention, and since then every time she visit the States, she always remember to take home boxes of Red Velvet Lollicakes to the Philippines.

With her cravings and disappointment to find lollicakes in here (Manila), she then urges herself to make hew own … After few trials and taste tests and a little push from some close friends, Lollicake Factory was born!

Taking her next step,  LJ started a blog and shared it through different social media like facebook and twitter. After a few days, she received her first 60 pcs order. From then on, aside from the delicious lollicakes, some customers do also order cupcakes and cakes. Making her fully convince to take some baking classes.

Hesitant at first, The Henny Sison student, took up a full course including cake designing.

Lollicakes are deliciously rich and moist bite size coated with candy or chocolate serve in lollipop sticks. From the basic design, she then customized it to other things and shapes. Currently, The Lollicake Factory have 10 flavors with their flagship item – the Red Velvet. Other flavor includes chocolate, buttercream, carrot cake, dulce de leche, peanut butter and green tea.

The Lolli-queen, LJ Moreno-Alapag, was very thankful for having been blessed with many connections, making her business somehow a talk of the town in just a few months.

When it comes to her business, LJ describe herself as a control freak sometimes, meticulously checking every item and personnel to achieve the highest quality of the product. After starting online, joining bazaars, renting a small shop, and now presently owning their own shop that will soon be serving coffee and other bite snacks goodies as well.

Lollicakes are a big hit in weddings and birthdays, as well as for corporate giveaways. When I asked her about the buzz and competition in the market,  she eagerly told me that it was a good thing that they have already positioned as the pioneer of Lollicakes in the country and have gained loyal customers already.

For the budding entrepreneur who are also wanting to put up their own business someday, LJ shared that one should be passionate enough, loved and enjoys what he or she is putting up. And always remember that if a certain thing works in a particularly person, doesn’t mean it can also work for you, you should pick something that you like the most, you will enjoy doing and love doing it.

I belong! Full of Pink colored items at the store.
