Corniche Buffet Restaurant at Diamond Hotel

Experience a luxurious dining and accommodation from one of the finest hotel in Manila, Diamond Hotel. Situated perfectly in front of the magnificent golden sunset of Manila Bay, Diamond Hotel is just a few minutes away from international and domestic airports as well as from Makati business district.

Diamond Hotel has a variety of restaurant and bars specialising in different cuisines. Diners are sure to have a remarkable dining experience.

And this is where my journey starts, to experience this exquisite dining along with other bloggers to have a tastes of the sumptuous buffet to satisfy my appetite.

Corniche Buffet

Looking at the dictionary, I found out that the word Corniche is a road on the side of a cliff or mountain, with the ground rising on one side of the road and falling away on the other. But at Diamond Hotel, Corniche is a highly exquisite buffet dining experience.

Composed of 11 stations with almost around 80-100 different dishes, Corniche Buffet restaurant will definitely make you drool over the sumptuous foods elegantly prepared to satisfy one’s cravings.

Located at the hotels lobby, Corniche offers an exceptional breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet spread and an extensive all-day ala-carte menu. The buffet section is composed of Western, Asian, Japanese, Salads, Appetizers and Desserts Stations. Foods are arranged according to its category, our seats for the evening were perfectly chosen to easily access all the station.

Cold Cuts Station

According to Diamond Hotel’s Public Relations Supervisor Ms. Twinkle Lacsamana, they are still on the process of rearranging the stations and continuously enhancing a lot to give the best service they could give to thier clients. Some stations actually do have mix variety like in the Asian station for example is compose of  Filipino,  Chinese, some Japanese and mediterranean as well.  While in the Salad/Appetizer stations have a variety of cold cuts, salads and breads as well as uncook seafoods.

Asian Cuisine Station

And speaking of seafoods, what’s good about here is that they have this concept like the “Dampa”, where in you can pick your seafood variety on the station and let the cooks do the cooking as how you wanted it to be served!

Fresh Seafoods Mr. Crabs!

We are actually lucky to meet the Assistant Head Chef, Jerry Montenegro, and their pastry Chef which is actually a  french baker. (thats sounds familiar- Lol!). We have learned that there is a separate kitchen and chefs for the japanese cuisines and pastries.

Regular buffet for lunch cost Php 1,440.00 while Php 1,550 for the dinner. Aside from that they also serve a unique Theme Buffet  which is scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Italian Tuesday Buffet cost Php 1,930.00, Thursday Steak Night cost Php 2,335.00 while the Friday Salmon Night cost Php 2,385.00

Corniche is open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, daily.

INTERIOR/AMBIANCE

The ambiance was very relaxing, and I would really commend on the chairs provided for the guest which is very comfy to use. Like eating for 3 or more hours would not really burden sitting on it. The interiors were very elegant making your dining experience more uplifting.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is one criteria that I always wanted to pinpoint whenever i’m entering any vicinity or for this one a hotel and restaurant. Customer service could actually sometimes break or make a customers mind in returning and making another visit to a cerain place.

And for Diamond Hotels Corniche service, I can give a 5 out of 5!

Upon entering the vicinity everybody is all smiling, making one feel like you’d been there in the place a couple of times before. Everybody was so courteous to assist one to their needs and the willingness to do the service was excellent. There was actually in some point that we were requesting a lot from a certain waiter and yet even though it felt like we were becoming a bit annoying, the waiter still courteously granted the items that we are asking. Well good job!

My Food Choices for the Night:

Thursday Steak Night!

Its a thursday Steak Night,t hats why the highlight of the buffet was the steak, though I’m not a bit of a steak boy, my tummy for the night still drools over to the Japanese, Salads and off course the Desserts Stations!

I could say that I really like to aim and taste all of the food display but unfortunately my tummy can only afford a few, so instead I just picked some foods that really caught my attention and tried tasting some of those.

First Stop: The Salads & Appetisers

All-you-can-eat Salads!

There are also lots of breads …

I also tried some other dishes like …

Vegetarian Pizza

Sinigang na Tuna Belly Mango Salad with Grilled Shrimp

We were also serve some steaks for the night, the Sirloin, T-bone and tenderloin. I actually love the fatty part, hahaha luckily I’m a medium built person and still on early 30s, i think i can still manage to burn it all up! but what makes it exceptional is the taste and the tenderness of the meat. Having that juicy flavour comes up on every slice you made.

Its Steak Thursday!

I actually listed down some of the foods that I highly recommend to those people who have the same taste palette like me. Some of my favorites includes;

  1. Sinigang Tuna belly
  2. Salad shrimp and mango
  3. Japanese – tuna salad and the maki!
  4. Dessert – Chocolate Truffle, Pineapple Raiovli, Madelien and Fraiseir and the chocolate variety as well!

and speaking of desserts …

Pineapple Ravioli
